About This Content The heavy haulage turbo charged PRR Alco RS-11 road switcher is now available for Train Simulator.Built between 1956 and 1964, the RS-11 was Alco’s answer to the EMD GP9 and was fitted with a turbo charger and had a heavy pulling power of 1,800hp, making it an ideal heavy freighter but also saw some passenger service in its lifetime. In total, 425 units were built, primarily for the American and Mexican market, and some can still be found on US railroads today. The Alco RS-11 for Train Simulator, developed by virtualRailroads, is available in Pennsylvania Railroad livery and features fully detailed and working cab, dynamic braking capability and independent wiper control. The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the Alco RS-11 on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Horseshoe Curve (available separately and required to play these scenarios).ScenariosFour scenarios for the Horseshoe Curve route:Evening SwitcherWorking in Altoona YardWork on the BranchCresson to AltoonaMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. Pulls great, runs great, sounds great. Not crazy over the bell, but that's a personal preference I guess. The horn is my favorite in the game. This thing smokes more than Willie Nelson (if you catch my drift), just like the real alcos did. The RS11 was also used on the LIRR, so I'm hoping they make a route out here so they can make a reskin of this in LIRR blue and orange. This is a FANTASTIC model with GREAT SOUNDSThe sounds fit this ole' classic perfectly, and they have simulated the classic ALCO smoke accurately.A MUST HAVE for all American Railfans!!!!!. A Very Smooth LocoMotive Good Breaks Comes In Handy On Horse Shoe Cuve Nice Bell Good Sounding Horn An Good Head Lights An A Very Cool Looking LocoMotive For The PRR. This could use lots of work.RS11's never had 539T's.The sounds are wrong, its a 539T mixed with 567D3 sounds. The horn is a RS5T despite the model being an RS3L.The bell is a generic MSTS one, presumably from the Acela. The sounds are low quality, it sounds like a 240p youtube video.Overall rating: 2\/10.. This is a very nice locomotive and highly recommended.
